Therapy for the Therapist
Dr. Dan Allender talks about why The Seattle School is one of the few counseling programs that requires students to engage their own stories of harm as part of the curriculum. We believe that a therapist’s most powerful tool for healing in the lives of others is a deep awareness of their own stories. This belief also informs The Allender Center’s Training Certificate, which equips therapists to wrestle with the particularities of their stories in a way that deepens and enriches the care they offer others.
