Empowering Lay Counselors
Long before seeking therapy, most people share their stories of trauma and abuse with friends, bartenders, barbers, and the people they see day to day. That means you don’t have to be a pastor or a licensed counselor to engage stories of harm in a way that leads to restoration. Dr. Dan Allender shares his passion around working with lay counselors, ministry leaders, and advocates in The Allender Center’s Training Certificate, which equips people of all backgrounds and vocations to engage their own stories of harm so they can learn to offer care in the stories of others.
