Workshop Details & Application Process

We recognize the courage it requires to step into this sacred work. Our Story Workshops are intentionally designed to provide a thoughtful, relational space for restoration. Our admissions process seeks to honor the vulnerability of your desire to do this work and to create a kind space for discerning if the nature and timing of this experience align with your needs.

Our August 20-23, 2020 Virtual Story Workshop is currently full and applications are closed. If you would like to know when applications open and dates are set for our next Story Workshop, fill out this form and we’ll be in touch as soon as we have more information.

We encourage you to reach out to our Admissions Team at for questions and more information.

Application Process

The first step is to submit an application. This form is available online, takes approximately 10-15 minutes to complete, and requires a $50 application fee to submit. Our Admissions Review Committee will review on a rolling basis. This is a space to get to know you and your story and discern timing and readiness for this workshop.

The total cost of this online workshop is $699. The fee completely covers the costs of this 3 and ½-day intensive workshop. A $250 deposit is required to secure your seat at the time of enrollment. This non-refundable, non-transferable deposit is applied to your workshop fee.

When you enroll you will have the option to pay your workshop fee in full or opt to pay in two installments. A 3% processing fee applies to online payments. Participation in the workshop will not be permitted until fees have been paid in full.

We believe in the importance of this work and do our best to make this offering accessible. If the cost of the workshop is a barrier, we encourage you to invite your community to consider sponsoring you. We are grateful to be able to offer a limited number of partial scholarships, ranging from $50-$200, thanks to the generosity of our donor community. Scholarships are reserved for participants from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups and/or those who demonstrate financial hardship. You may submit your request for a scholarship by emailing

If you have been impacted by the work of The Allender Center, we would be honored to receive your gift. Visit our Giving page to learn more.

Story Workshop involves intensive exploration of your own story and the stories of others, but it is not group therapy. Story Workshop provides an opportunity to engage in restorative work within your story, but does not act as a substitute for consistent therapeutic engagement and support.
