Workshop Details & Registration Process

We recognize the courage it requires to step into this sacred work. Our Story Workshops are intentionally designed to provide a thoughtful, relational space for restoration. Our admissions process seeks to honor the vulnerability of your desire to do this work and to create a kind space for discerning if the nature and timing of this experience align with your needs.

Important Details for the Next Story Workshop

Dates:

There are no Story Workshops scheduled at this time.

Costs

The total cost of this online workshop is $849. The fee completely covers the costs of this 3 and ½-day intensive workshop.

A $250 deposit is required to secure your seat at the time of registration. This non-refundable, non-transferable deposit is applied to your workshop fee.

When you register, you will have the option to pay your workshop fee in full or opt to pay in two installments. Installment payments can be made by check or credit card. A 3% processing fee applies to online payments. Please note that this processing fee does not apply to your deposit. Participation in the workshop will not be permitted until fees have been paid in full.

Scholarships

We believe in the importance of this work and do our best to make this offering accessible. If the cost of the workshop is a barrier, we encourage you to invite your community to consider sponsoring you. We are also grateful to be able to offer a limited number of partial scholarships.

We offer two different scholarship amounts for Story Workshop: $100 and $200. Scholarships are reserved for participants who demonstrate financial hardship and/or those who are from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups.

If you are not BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color), please use the following guidelines:

To determine which scholarship amount is right for you, please refer to this Green Bottle Sliding Scale graphic designed by Alexis J. Cunningfolk.

If you fall into the “full bottle” category on the scale, we ask that you not request a scholarship for this program. If you fall into the “half-full bottle” category on the scale, please request the $100 scholarship amount. If you fall into the “quarter-full bottle” category on this scale, please request the $200 scholarship amount.

Your scholarship will be confirmed within two weeks of your registration submission.

We are able to offer these scholarships due to the generosity of our donor community. If you have been impacted by the work of The Allender Center, we would be honored to receive your gift. Visit our Giving page to learn more.

Registration Review

Once the registration form is submitted, your seat is secure. Before the workshop begins, your registration form will be reviewed by our Admissions Review Committee. The review committee assesses each registrant’s alignment with the workshop outcomes and format: we want your experience to fit with your needs and hopes. In the event that the review committee determines that your participation in this workshop is not a good fit for your current needs, you will receive a full refund.

We receive registrations without discrimination on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, sex, gender, age, national origin, disability, marital status, sexual identity or orientation, military status, or denomination.

Covenant & Release of Claims

Your participation in the program is conditioned on your agreeing to the terms of the Covenant & Release of Claims. Story Workshop involves intensive exploration of your own story and the stories of others, but it is not group therapy. Story Workshop provides an opportunity to engage in restorative work within your story, but does not act as a substitute for consistent therapeutic engagement and support.

Cancellation Policy

Your $250 registration deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable. The remaining workshop fee of $549 may be refundable, following this schedule:

  • More than 60 days in advance of the workshop start date: 100%
  • 30-60 days in advance of the workshop start date: 50%
  • Less than 30 days in advance of the workshop start date: 0%

If you choose to cancel your registration, please notify us in writing by sending an email to admissions@theallendercenter.org.

Payment Policy

If fees are not paid in full by the start of the workshop, you will not be able to participate. The Allender Center at The Seattle School reserves the right to pursue payment in full of the amounts owed using any lawful means it deems appropriate. This may involve a third party agency. Administrative and/or collection fees permissible by law are the responsibility of the participant.
