Application Process

The first step is to submit an application. The application form is available online, takes approximately 10-15 minutes to complete, and requires a $50 application fee to submit. Our Admissions Review Committee will review on a rolling basis. This review is a space for our staff to get to know you and discern the timing and your readiness for this workshop.

The total cost of this online workshop is $699. The fee completely covers the costs of this 3 and ½-day intensive workshop.

A $250 deposit is required to secure your seat at the time of enrollment. This non-refundable, non-transferable deposit is applied to your workshop fee.

When you enroll, you will have the option to pay your workshop fee in full or opt to pay in two or four installments. Installment payments can be made by check or credit card. A 3% processing fee applies to online payments paid by credit card. Please note that this processing fee does not apply to your deposit. Participation in the workshop will not be permitted until fees have been paid in full.

We believe in the importance of this work and do our best to make this offering accessible. If the cost of the workshop is a barrier, we encourage you to invite your community to consider sponsoring you. We are also grateful to be able to offer a limited number of partial scholarships. Scholarships are reserved for participants from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups and/or those who demonstrate financial hardship.

Scholarships for Story Workshop range from $50-200. If you wish to apply for a scholarship, please email us at with your response to the following prompts in 500 words or less:

What kind of impact do you imagine this workshop having on you, your work, and/or your community? Please share anything regarding your financial situation that we should take into consideration when reviewing your scholarship request.

If granted, your scholarship will be awarded upon acceptance into the workshop.

We are able to offer these scholarships due to the generosity of our donor community. If you have been impacted by the work of The Allender Center, we would be honored to receive your gift. Visit our Giving page to learn more.

Story Workshop involves intensive exploration of your own story and the stories of others, but it is not group therapy. Story Workshop provides an opportunity to engage in restorative work within your story, but does not act as a substitute for consistent therapeutic engagement and support.
