Program Details & Application Process – Certificate in Narrative Focused Trauma Care Level II

Eligibility
Applicants must have completed our Certificate in Narrative Focused Trauma Care Level I or be a graduate of The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology.
Costs
Tuition for Certificate in Narrative Focused Trauma Care Level II is $6,495. A $500 deposit is due at the time of enrollment to secure your seat in the training. The remaining balance may be paid in full or in two or four installments. A 3% processing fee applies to online payments.
Scholarships
We are committed to keeping the cost of this training as accessible as possible. We are tremendously grateful for the investment of our donors who make it possible for us to offer this high-touch, immersive experience.
We offer two scholarship amounts: $750 and $2,000. We have a limited number of scholarships available and we attempt to reserve these scholarships for participants from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups and/or those experiencing high financial need.

To determine which scholarship amount is right for you, please refer to this Green Bottle Sliding Scale graphic designed by Alexis J. Cunningfolk. If you fall into the “full bottle” category on the scale, we ask that you do not request a scholarship for this program. If you fall into the “half-full bottle” category on the scale, please request a scholarship amount of $750. If you fall into the “quarter-full bottle” category on this scale, please request a scholarship amount of $2000.

Application Process
In order to apply, please submit the online application. The application requires approximately 30 minutes and must be completed in one sitting. Applicants will be asked to respond to questions about your previous Certificate experience, experience participating in a group, experience leading or facilitating groups, and ways you have gone deeper into your own story. In addition to your online application form, we will reach out to your NFTC Level I Facilitator as a reference. A $50 application fee is required to submit your application.
Essay
After submitting your online application form, please complete your application by writing an essay that shares about your hopes for partaking in Narrative Focused Trauma Care Level II. In 500 words or less, respond to the following prompt:
Certificate in Narrative Focused Trauma Care Level II is designed to support your growth as a story practitioner within your particular context of work or counseling. How do you imagine applying this training to your current context? What goals do you have to facilitate story groups in the future?
Once complete, save your essay as a .pdf file or Google Doc and send it to admissions@theallendercenter.org.
Notification
Because we believe this work is sacred, and because of the capacity required to engage in this level of work, we are thoughtful in our review process and cannot guarantee that every applicant will be admitted. We work to be transparent throughout the process, and will notify applicants of our Review Committee’s admissions decision by June 15, 2023.
