Program Details & Application Process – Training Certificate Level II

Eligibility & Dual Relationships
To be eligible to apply you must have completed our Training Certificate Level I or be a graduate of The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology.
You are ineligible for the Training Certificate Level II program if you, a spouse/partner, or a child/dependent are in a current client/therapist relationship with a Training Certificate Level II Trainer or have terminated with them less than 1 year prior to admittance to the program. The Training Certificate Level II Trainer team is subject to change annually. Updated information on training team leadership members for your intended program year will be made available during the application process in order to discern specific eligibility. At this time, the 2019-20 Training Team includes: Cathy Loerzel, Susan Kim, Abby Wong-Heffter, Susan Cunningham and Cyndi Mesmer.
Costs & Payment Options
Tuition for Training Certificate Level II is $2,750. A $500 deposit is due at the time of enrollment to secure your seat in the training. The remaining balance may be paid in full or in two installments.
We are committed to keeping the cost of this training as accessible as we are able. We have tremendous gratitude for the investment of our donors who make it possible for us to offer this high-touch, immersive experience. Additionally, we offer a limited number of scholarships for those experiencing financial hardship. Applicants may request a scholarship within the application form.
To apply for our certificate program please submit our online application. The application requires approximately 30 minutes and must be completed in one sitting. Applicants will be asked to respond to questions about your previous certificate small group experience, experience participating in a group, experience leading or facilitating groups, and ways you have gone deeper into your own story. Space to provide contact information for two references is provided within the application as well.
We believe this work is sacred and because of the capacity required to engage in this level of work we are thoughtful in our review process and cannot guarantee that every applicant will be admitted. We work to be transparent throughout the process, notifying applicants within 6 weeks of application completion.
Travel & Lodging
Participants are responsible for booking their own travel and lodging. Training Certificate Level II will take place at The Seattle School in Seattle, WA. We negotiate room blocks at a few area hotels. These opportunities will be available once enrollment is confirmed.
Some participants room with fellow participants to reduce accommodation costs.
Enrolling in a certificate program at The Allender Center at The Seattle School creates a financial commitment. Beginning September 8, 2019 participants assume full responsibility for tuition costs. Pro-rated refunds (not including the nonrefundable $500 seat deposit) of tuition costs will be issued upon withdrawal from the program based on the following timeline:
- Until September 7, 2019: 100% refundable
- September 8-30, 2019: 75% refundable (25% of tuition retained/due if not yet paid)
- October 1-15, 2019: 50% refundable (50% of tuition retained/due if not yet paid)
- After October 15, 2019: 0% refundable (100% of fees retained/due if not yet paid)
