Notification
Because we believe that this work is sacred and because of the capacity required to engage in this level of work, we are thoughtful in our review process and cannot guarantee that every applicant will be admitted. We work to be transparent throughout the process. Applicants who submit their application by the priority deadline (May 31, 2024) will hear back by the end of June.
Eligibility & Dual Relationships
To be eligible to apply for our Narrative Focused Trauma Care Level III program, you must have completed the Allender Center’s Certificate in Narrative Focused Trauma Care Level II (previously titled Training Certificate Level II).
The Narrative Focused Trauma Care Level III program is a small cohort, and every effort is made to place participants in small groups separate from identified dual relationships. However, if you are in a current client-therapist relationship with a Narrative Focused Trauma Care Level III trainer, or if you have terminated your work together less than one year before program admittance, discernment is encouraged to determine whether or not this is an appropriate shared environment. Collective teaching sessions include personal data, stories, and relational engagement from the Narrative Focused Trauma Care Level III training team members.
To identify potential dual relationships, the 2024-25 Narrative Focused Trauma Care Level III training team is formed annually from our Teaching Staff and Training & Pastoral Team members. If you are accepted to the program prior to the complete Narrative Focused Trauma Care Level III team being announced, and you later identify a client-therapist relationship that would preclude your participation, you are eligible to withdraw and receive a full refund of all application and enrollment fees paid.
Costs & Payment Options
Tuition for this eight-month training is $4,795. A $500 deposit is due at the time of enrollment to secure your seat in the training. The remaining balance may be paid in full or in installments. A 3% processing fee applies to online payments.
Scholarships
We are committed to keeping the cost of this training as accessible as possible. We are tremendously grateful for the investment of our donors who make it possible for us to offer this high-touch, immersive experience.
We offer two scholarship amounts: $500 and $1500. We have a limited number of scholarships available and we attempt to reserve these scholarships for participants from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups and/or those experiencing high financial need.
If you are not a BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, Person of Color) applicant, please use the following guidelines:
To determine which scholarship amount is right for you, please refer to this Green Bottle Sliding Scale graphic designed by Alexis J. Cunningfolk. If you fall into the “full bottle” category on the scale, we ask that you do not request a scholarship for this program. If you fall into the “half-full bottle” category on the scale, please request a scholarship amount of $500. If you fall into the “quarter-full bottle” category on this scale, please request a scholarship amount of $1500.
You may submit your request for a scholarship through the online application.
