Rachel Johnson
Program Manager
Rachel joined The Allender Center in January 2025 as the Program Manager for Workshops and Membership. This role requires her to be an intentional communicator, effective connector, and have strong organizational skills. She was drawn to this role because of the opportunity to be a part of the powerful mission of bringing redemption and healing through story workshops and recovery weeks. The role also comes with the privilege of working with incredibly wise, caring, and talented people. Rachel comes from a background of education, having worked in both traditional school settings and corporate learning environments. She brings this passion for learning, creating community, and building strong working relationships into her work at The Allender Center.
Rachel is an Australian who grew up in Japan and now lives in Seattle with her husband, Sam. Having lived in multiple cultural contexts, she has learned to adapt quickly and listen with intention. Despite having lived in Seattle since 2019, she still has some funny moments of miscommunication when an Aussie phrase makes its way into a conversation! Although she has come to love Seattle, she wishes her family could be just a little closer. Although not the same as being together in person, video calls are a blessing!
Outside of work, Rachel loves finding opportunities to sing, bake a sweet treat, and go on a coffee walk with a friend. She is also learning how to ski which is physically challenging but helps make the Seattle winters feel more fun. Her husband Sam is a very patient teacher!
