All Story Engagement documents must be uploaded to the form that you receive. All Video Interview submissions must be no longer than 30 minutes in length and also uploaded to the form that you receive.

Notification

Because we believe that this work is sacred and because of the capacity required to engage in this level of work, we are thoughtful in our review process and cannot guarantee that every applicant will be admitted. We work to be transparent throughout the process and will notify applicants of their admissions decision within 8 weeks of document submission.

Eligibility & Dual Relationships

To be eligible to apply for our Narrative Focused Trauma Care Level III program, you must have completed the Allender Center’s Certificate in Narrative Focused Trauma Care Level II (previously titled Training Certificate Level II) or have earned your MA in Counseling Psychology with a Concentration in Trauma &amp Abuse from The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology.

The Narrative Focused Trauma Care Level III program is a small cohort, and every effort is made to place participants in small groups separate from identified dual relationships. However, if you are in a current client-therapist relationship with a Narrative Focused Trauma Care Level III trainer, or if you have terminated your work together less than one year prior to program admittance, discernment is encouraged to determine whether or not this is an appropriate shared environment. Collective teaching sessions include personal data, stories, and relational engagement from the Narrative Focused Trauma Care Level III training team members.

To identify potential dual relationships, the 2023-24 Narrative Focused Trauma Care Level III training team is formed annually from our Teaching Staff and Training & Pastoral Team members. If you are accepted to the program prior to the complete Narrative Focused Trauma Care Level III team being announced, and you later identify a client-therapist relationship that would preclude your participation, you are eligible to withdraw and receive a full refund of all application and enrollment fees paid.

Costs & Payment Options

Tuition for this eight-month training is $3,795. A $500 deposit is due at the time of enrollment to secure your seat in the training. The remaining balance may be paid in full or in two or four installments. A 3% processing fee applies to online payments.

We are committed to keeping the cost of this training as accessible as possible. We offer a limited number of scholarships for those experiencing financial hardship as well as multicultural scholarships for applicants from underrepresented racial or ethnic communities. Applicants may request to be considered for these scholarships within the application form.

If you wish to apply for a scholarship, please indicate so on the application form and then respond to the following prompts in 500 words or less:

What kind of impact do you imagine that receiving this training in the Narrative Focused Trauma Care Level III program would have on you, your work, and/or your community? Please share anything regarding your financial situation that we should take into consideration when reviewing your scholarship request.

Please submit your response as a short essay to admissions@theallendercenter.org.
