Matthew Morrissey, LMHCA
Matt Morrissey is a therapist, consultant, and speaker based out of Chicago, IL. He holds a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology and has held various roles within The Allender Center since 2015. As a fellow, he facilitates groups for The Allender Center’s Narrative Focused Trauma Care Level 1 and Story Workshop.
Matt is passionate about helping people understand how their stories with their gender, sexuality, and bodies cannot be separated from the stories of their trauma and abuse. He believes that at the core of our beings we long for connection and that healing happens most in the presence of others. His work as a therapist focuses on helping boys and men learn to connect and thrive. When not working, you can find him exploring the city of Chicago with his wife and young daughter as they take in all the sights, sounds, and smells of the Midwest metropolis.
