The Allender Center Conferences is a division of The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology in Seattle, WA that offers transformational experiences for those not seeking a graduate degree. To that end, we have developed different experiences designed to meet the diverse needs of faith communities.

Large Scale Conferences
Our conference offerings bring the content of a workshop to a wide audience. This setting is ideal for larger churches or community centers. Because we are constantly developing our conference material, offerings change from year to year. We organize four to five events per year that range between 250 – 600 attendees.
Our current topics include:
- Intimate Mystery: A marriage conference
- Wounded Heart: Dealing with the ramifications of sexual abuse
- Learning to Love Your Story: Learn how your life’s story is united with God’s story
- Bold Purpose: Breaking the idols of your heart
- Leading With a Limp: A new way to look at leadership
- Wrestling With God: Jacob’s Story — Our Story
Workshops
The Allender Center workshops are designed to offer transformational experiences with a more in-depth approach to the material than the large-scale conferences. We customize the content of the workshops to fit the more intimate setting. Our current workshop offerings include:
- The Story Workshop: Everyone has a story. What’s yours?
- Sabbath Weekend: Encounter a new experience of delight.
- Recovery Weeks: Begin the journey towards healing.
Becoming a Host Church
The Allender Center partners with host churches nationally to bring our conferences and workshops to their community. We work closely with the churches to tailor our offerings to the needs of the community. Whether it is a marriage conference, a story workshop, or a leadership crucible for your small group leaders, our passion is to co-create a transformative experience with you to further the gospel.
If you would like to partner with The Allender Center Conferences or would like more information, please consider these preliminary questions:
- What topic best fits the need/desire of the community?
View our current offerings to familiarize yourself with our conferences and workshops. We offer well-established templates for specific conferences, but we are also able to customize the curricula to your needs.
- Which type of conference are you interested in?
Consider which conference model best suits your church. Do you want a large scale seminar with 200–1,000 people from your community? Or are you more interested in a smaller scale workshop on story or leadership?
- What dates are you considering?
We tend to book dates at least 9 months in advance.
Moving Forward
Contact our conferences office at conferences@theseattleschool.edu for additional information about financial agreement details and a sample of our Host Manual.
We have designed the process of hosting a conference to be straightforward. To that end, we have created detailed documentation on the logistical process to ensure transparency and a coordinated effort. The materials on the hosting process have been developed with the church and participants in mind, and will guide you in preparation for the event. Please contact us to receive these materials and begin the process. If you have specific needs, let us know and we can work with you to customize the curriculum to suit your circumstances.
Once you have considered these things and think there is the potential for a partnership, please email Jeanette White (jwhite@theseattleschool.edu) to begin the process.
